Who is Vodafone Hutchison Australia and what does road safety mean to their organisation?
Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA) runs and maintains a Telecommunications Network across Australia. Our operations include retail and network activities. Both activities require travel in light and heavy vehicles. VHA regards occupational road risks a key risk area. We are continually review incident and monitoring our performance.
Majority of our Network Operations are managed by our contractors. Our contractors are required by VHA to have occupational road safety programmes. The safety performance of our contractors is monitoring through an internal governance programme.
VHA is continually looking to ways of improving our operations. Where we are looking to reduce the amount and frequency of travel, through the uses of mobile technology and remote monitoring. As a global company we continually share best practices between the Vodafone markets.
